n.a protein which forms (together with myosin) the contractile filaments of muscle cells, and also involved in motion in other types of cell.

筋肉を構成する分子量約４万の球状タンパク。単体Gアクチン、重合(糸状)Fアクチン。二重らせんに、トロポニン、トロポミオシンが結合すると筋肉の細い繊維の主成分となる。
